The good guys at Ashbury Clothing asked me to do some custom and hand done calligraphy. I kept with their classic colors and adjusted the type in Illustrator. Fli Pelican contacted me again to do some custom typography pieces for them. I was happy to say yes and take this fun project on. Beam Up Entertainment asked me to do many graphics for Kingpen Slims tour but this hand done calligraphy piece is my favorite. I was commissioned to do some custom typography pieces for them. Leaders 1354 and I teamed up on a collaboration this work was inspired by neon signs and Jasper Johns later works of alphabet and numerals. I decided to make a monogram for myself hand drawn and touched up in Illustrator it is inspired by old Baseball Cooperstown typefaces. I got a wild hair and was inspired by the Water Buffalo Club on the Flintstones so I made this graphic. Hand drawn typography and touched up in Illustrator. Expect prints and a series behind this work. Inspired by my favorite fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. I did up some concepts for Thunder Trucks which didn’t make the cut. I played with the use of spacing, kerning and intertwining to boarder the line of illegibility it came out more graceful then I thought. I had free creative control on this typographic piece. Inspired by true elements of the Rock & Roll lifestyle from boobs and penises to amps and wires it has it all. I was asked to design the phrase “Fuck Love”. I wanted something that flowed well and fit the overall though of the phrase by making love look devilish. Brand Vita-Morte from Chicago I did some custom typography. I was asked to develop their lookbook and catalog and for all sub brands also. In the Zigi catalog this was one of the mini posters included in the lookbook for editors at high fashion magazines.
